Saturday November 16th Buxton

A day late but never mind at least I remembered!

This week with me as teacher again we did two more Christmas cards. The first is the IndigoBlu wreath and bow using Morris dance flakes. We added a few coloured gems around the wreath with one in the centre of the bow and four dots of gold glitter glue in the corners of the base card. Simple but effective layering just finishes this card. For seven out of eight of our group this was their first time with flitterglu and flakes and they did a fantastic job. I believe the design of this card is by JO RICE http://jr-crafts.blogspot.co.uk

For the second card we used a Crafters Companion Barkley image from their latest magazine. I printed the background directly onto the card and then it was just a case of placing the image and sentiment on top. I edged the toppers with red ink just to lift it a little. Some of the group chose to mount the image on red card and others followed my lead and offset the image at a jaunty angle.  The sentiment was from the Debbi Moore Magazine which was layered onto red card. As usual some chose to write rather than stamp. We then used ultra fine white glitter on the dogs' hat trim and bobble with three red gems (not shown here)in the middle of the holly. In retrospect I would have used a smaller sized card to give the image more impact but I am still learning myself - well, that's my excuse! Card design by me! Got to giggle at that as they are all different!
